Hanging From a Helium Balloon at the Buitengewoon Festival 2011

Just back from performing at the 18^th BuitenGewoon Festival of up coming street theatre in Doitchenem, Holland. The name of the festival translates to “Just Outside” reflecting the types of performances that could be seen.

This is a 3 day arts festival held annually for the public. This year On 24, 25 & 26 June, they had circus companies such as Ochhams Razor, with the show The Mill (Great Britain) and Jango Edwards & Cia Passabarret, with the show Big Boss & Tanda Rica Circus (Spain and United States) performing on the latter days of the weekend. 

I was to fly off the bottom of a giant helium balloon for a company called The Dream Engine. This giant balloon is otherwise known as a Heliosphere. We flew up to 25 ft where you could see some gorgeous views over Holland at sunset. 

 

 The venue in which we performed was in a car park, next to a beautiful river. 

 The 25 hour road trip there and back was pretty intense but survived to tell the tale.

Billionaires Wedding in India

Just got back from performing at what is probably the biggest wedding Hyderabad has ever seen, costing around $132,000,000! Mallika Reddy  - daughter of the renowned industrialist GV Krishna was marrying Sidharth Reddy on June 10th - 12th. I was to be the highlight of the show alongside other aerialists Christian Hunt, Delia Du Sol, Serenity and Fiona Lait.

 The Act performed was crafted by Roger from Acrobat Productions. It consisted of 5 aerial silk artists and Christian and I on flying silks in the centre.

This grand wedding invitee list included Jay Sean and Bollywood big shots like Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, King Khan Shah Rukh Khan, Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan and Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

The invitee list included industrial skippers from Mumbai along with number of well known actors and actresses like Akshay Kumar, Rani Mukherjee, and Katrina Kaif as well.

 The entire venue was constructed especially for the event into a huge 3 roomed temple-like building containing elaborately crafted statues and  reliefs, and 8 LED screens!
